Mr. Sudeep Jain, an IAS officer from the 1994 batch of Indian Administrative Service borne on Tamilnadu Cadre. He holds a B.E. in Electrical & Electronics from BITS Pilani, an MBA from JNV University, and is a Hubert Humphrey Fellow from the University of Washington. He is currently pursuing a PhD at IIT Madras in solar energy.
Mr. Jain has held key government positions in the Tamil Nadu, including Collector, Corporation Commissioner, Managing Director of the Electronics Corporation of Tamilnadu (ELCUT), Chairman & Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA). As Senior Deputy Election Commissioner of India (2015-2021), he oversaw EVM management including its design & production, revamped the electoral roll’s IT architecture, and managed elections in 10 states. As Additional Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, he oversaw PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana-the largest solar rooftop program in the world, in addition to developing key policies for growth of Renewable Energy sector including domestic manufacturing. Throughout his career, his achievements include turning around state PSUs, leading tsunami rehabilitation efforts, and setting Guinness World Records for tree plantation.
