राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की अध्यक्ष श्रीमती विजया रहाटकर के मार्गदर्शन में आज बिजनौर, उत्तर प्रदेश में सफल महिला जनसुनवाई आयोजित की गई। जिलाधिकारी, पुलिस अधीक्षक एवं जिला प्रशासन और पुलिस के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में आयोग के समक्ष पंजीकृत 33 शिकायतों तथा 120+ वॉक-इन शिकायतों की सुनवाई की गई।

The session on “Gender Responsive Governance: Gender Budgeting for Women’s Empowerment” focused on integrating a gender perspective into policymaking, planning and allocation of public resources. Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, led the session.
Women legislators from over 25 States/UTs came together today at the NCW’s Capacity Building Workshop on She is a Changemaker Shri Om Birla Ji, Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, and Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Hon’ble Chairperson, NCW, addressed the distinguished gathering.
The NCW Advisory Committee Meeting, held in Bhubaneswar on 2 September, brought together members of the Advisory board to deliberate on key issues of women’s empowerment, gender equality, safety and protection.
Shakti Parade | Bhubaneswar At KIIT, 300 trained SHG women gave an impressive demonstration of self-defense skills, confidence, and empowerment through the Shakti Parade-cum-Demonstration. A joint initiative of NCW and Mission Shakti, Government of Odisha, this effort aims to make women safe, capable, and self-reliant.

Focused on strengthening systems for women’s safety, justice and empowerment. Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS led the session on Building Safe Cities, while Sh. H. Sashidhara Shetty shared insights on Victim Compensation and ensuring timely support for survivors.
Shakti Summit Discussions on Strengthening Protection Officers under the PWDVA, 2005 were led by Sh. Sudeep Jain, with guidance from Hon’ble Chairperson NCW. Summit also focused on strengthening State Women’s Commissions, led by Ms. Meenakshi Gupta, Deputy CAG.
At the Shakti Summit, States/UTs deliberated on strengthening POSH Act implementation, LC/IC monitoring, compliance and workplace safety audits. The session was followed by sharing of best practices from Gujarat, West Bengal, Karnataka, Delhi, Assam, Sikkim and Tripura.
The ‘Shakti Summit’ organized by NCW in Bhubaneswar, Odisha was inaugurated in the presence of the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Smt. Pravati Parida, as the Chief Guest. 29 senior officials representing 22 states/Union Territories participated in the summit.
Hon’ble Chairperson of the NCW, Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Mr. Om Birla, and invited him to the All India Capacity Building Workshop ‘Gender Responsive Governance’ organized by the Commission.
