The National Commission for Women organized the 7th edition of the two-day training program for counselors of the “Tere Mere Sapne” Pre-Marriage Communication Centre. The program saw enthusiastic participation from participants who came from 17 states across the country.
Addressing the two-day training program for counselors of the “Tere Mere Sapne” Pre-Marriage Communication Centers organized by the National Commission for Women, the Commission’s Chairperson, Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar, said, “When we launched this initiative, perhaps no one imagined that it would take on such a widespread form in such a short time. Today, 105 centers are operational in 14 states, becoming a powerful platform for dialogue, understanding, and trust for the youth.
An important consultative meeting with representatives of matrimonial websites and marriage bureaus was organized under the chairmanship of the Honorable Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar. The meeting discussed the ‘Tere Mere Sapne – Pre Marital Communication Centre’ initiative.
Hon’ble Chairperson, NCW, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, addressed an Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Programme at the ITBP campus in Patiala and underscored the importance of the 5 Ps Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, Participation and Partnership — in combating human trafficking.

Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, conducted an inspection of the District Jail, Rupnagar, reviewing prison infrastructure and welfare measures, including barracks, kitchen facilities, healthcare services, sanitation standards, crèche facilities, and skill development programmes for inmates.
Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, conducted a Mahila Jan Sunwai under the Rashtriya Mahila Aapke Dwar initiative, reviewing nearly 40 cases from Rupnagar and Mohali districts in the presence of district administration, police officials and investigating officers.

Vijaya Rahatkar, chaired a review meeting with senior police and district administration officials in Rupnagar to assess the implementation of women-centric schemes, the status of grievance redressal mechanisms, and measures being undertaken to address crimes against women.

Vijaya Rahatkar, addressed a workshop for members of Internal Committees (ICs) from institutions across Rupnagar district on the effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
