{"id":613,"date":"2023-01-30T00:26:31","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T00:26:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncw.gov.in\/?page_id=613"},"modified":"2023-01-30T00:26:31","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T00:26:31","slug":"the-code-of-criminal-procedure-1973","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ncw.gov.in\/hi\/ncw-cells\/legal-cell\/review-of-laws-affecting-women-and-legislative-measures-suggested\/the-code-of-criminal-procedure-1973\/","title":{"rendered":"THE CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, 1973"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NCW organized an interactive meeting with State Commissions for Women to deliberate uponidentified issues including a Supreme Court judgment&nbsp;<em>Writ Petition (Criminal) No. 24 of 2014<\/em>&nbsp;relating to the gang-rape of a 20 year old woman in West Bengal on the orders of community Panchayatas punishment for having relationship with a man from a different community has observed that the Code of Criminal Procedure has been specifically amended by recent amendment dated 03.02.2013 in order to advance the safeguards for women.The Issue&nbsp;of Section 357 A Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 regarding Victim Compensation Scheme was taken up in the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim compensation scheme under Section 357 A Cr.P.C. 1973 have been notified by the states of Rajasthan, West Bengal, Goa, Assam, Haryana, Delhi and Gujarat.&nbsp; Some State Commissions have stated that there are such schemes in their States which are in the process of being notified under Sec 357 A Cr. PC. The details are given at&nbsp;<strong>Annexure-II<\/strong>.
