{"id":3527,"date":"2024-10-14T12:19:22","date_gmt":"2024-10-14T06:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncw.gov.in\/?post_type=cell_types&#038;p=3527"},"modified":"2025-11-25T15:32:53","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T10:02:53","slug":"c-ni-cell","status":"publish","type":"cell_types","link":"https:\/\/www.ncw.gov.in\/hi\/ncw-cells\/c-ni-cell\/","title":{"rendered":"Complaint & Investigation Cell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"last-updated-date\">Last updated: \u0928\u0935\u092e\u094d\u092c\u0930 25th, 2025<\/p><hr \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>Processes\u00a0 the complaints received orally in writing or online via official website\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncw.gov.in\/\">National Commission for Women<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Deals with the complaints received from all over the country including those relating to deprivation of rights of women and involving injustice to women\u00a0takes\u00a0suo motu\u00a0cognizance of incidents related to commission of heinous crimes against women U\/S 10 of the National Commission Act, 1990<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Scrutiny of Complaints<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>The complaints received are\u00a0 scrutinised as per Commission\u2019s mandate and adopted procedure to handle complaints<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The complaints which falls within the Commission\u2019s mandate and adopted procedure to handle complaints are registered under 19 identified categories<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The complaints of the following nature are\u00a0 summarily dismissed:-\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Complaints which are illegible or vague, anonymous or pseudonymous;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The issue raised relates to civil dispute between the parties;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The issue raised relates to service matters;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Matter is sub judice before a Court\/Tribunal;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>\u00a0Complaints which are already pending before a State Commission or any other Commission<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Complaints only endorsed to the Commission<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Complaints involving no deprivation of women rights<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Processing of Complaints<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To provide adequate relief to the complainant and ensure suitable redressal of her grievances. The complaints are acted upon in the following manner :<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>Investigations by the police are expedited and monitored.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Family disputes are resolved or compromised through counseling or hearing\u00a0 before the Commission.. For serious crimes, the Commission constitutes an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncw.gov.in\/enquiry-committees\/\">Inquiry Committee<\/a>\u00a0which makes spot enquiries, examines various witnesses, collects evidence and submits the report with recommendations. Such investigations help in providing immediate relief and justice to the victims of violence and atrocities. The implementation of the report is monitored by the NCW. There is a provision for having experts\/lawyers on these committees.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>A few complaints are also forwarded to the respective State Commissions for Women and other forums like the National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Scheduled Caste \/ Scheduled Tribe, etc., for disposal of the complaints at their end.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>In respect of complaints related to sexual harassment of women at their workplaces, the concerned organizations or departments are urged to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee(ICC) as per the mandatory provisions Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 in order\u00a0 to enquire into such complaints.
