Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n On the occasion of International Women\u2019s Day, 8th March 2025, the National Commission for Women (NCW), under its Mentorship Programme, proudly launched \u201cTere Mere Sapne\u201d \u2013 Pre-Marital Communication Centres (PMCCs)<\/em> across nine states in India.<\/strong> Under this initiative, 23 centres were inaugurated in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh. <\/strong><\/p>\n NCW\u2019s analysis of complaints shows that domestic issues form the majority of grievances<\/strong>, often due to unrealistic expectations, poor communication, and lack of premarital preparedness.<\/strong> With the decline of joint families, social media influences, and changing norms, young couples face new challenges. This initiative stems from NCW\u2019s deep commitment to fostering healthy relationships<\/strong>, empowering individuals<\/strong>, and strengthening families<\/strong>. In an era marked by changing social dynamics, marital expectations, and family structures, there is an urgent need to equip individuals with the skills necessary to sustain strong, respectful, and resilient partnerships.<\/p>\n At present, the Commission is mentoring 58 Pre-Marital Communication Centres across 11 states \u2014 Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.<\/strong><\/p>\n Why Pre-Marital Communication Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n Pre-marital communication plays a vital role in building healthy relationships by helping individuals and couples anticipate challenges, develop conflict resolution skills, and foster emotional well-being. It reduces the risk of domestic violence and divorce, promotes gender equality through shared responsibilities, and strengthens the foundation of families and society.<\/p>\n About \u201cTere Mere Sapne\u201d \u2013 PMCCs<\/strong><\/p>\n India\u2019s pioneering initiative, \u201cTere Mere Sapne\u201d Pre-Marital Communication Centers (PMCCs)<\/strong>, equips young people with the tools for strong, respectful partnerships through counseling sessions, interactive activities, outreach programs, and awareness campaigns. By encouraging open dialogue around expectations, mental health, financial planning, and family dynamics, the program empowers individuals, nurtures stronger marriages, and contributes to safer homes and more resilient communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
